Health Wagon seeks volunteer help

The Health Wagon has put out a call for additional medical personnel to help meet needs during the region’s surge of COVID-19 cases.

In a Jan. 21 email, the nonprofit organization noted that Southwest Virginia was experiencing death rates four times the state average because of the pandemic.

“The Health Wagon is calling for emergency general and medical volunteers!” it states, adding that the need includes nurse practitioners, nurses, nursing assistants, medical assistants, physicians, paramedics and clinical/office support “immediately.”
