JESSIE LEE PHIPPS

CLINTWOOD — Jessie Lee Phipps age 87, passed away Thursday, November 25, 2021 at Norton Community Hospital, Norton. She was a lifelong resident of Clintwood and was the first female member of the Clintwood Rescue Squad, as well as Charter member. She worked with the Dickenson County Ambulance Service, Dickenson County Sheriff’s Department dispatch center, member of Valley View Free Will Baptist Church, and a member of the Eastern Star along with a member of “Little Clintwood” of Georgetown, Fl. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, who enjoyed gardening, cooking, canning and spending time with her family. She was an avid bowler and yard sale customer.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Hubert and Dollie McFall; husband, Ivas Phipps; grandson, Travis Williams; one brother and three sisters.

Survivors include her son, James Phipps and wife Chloe and daughter, Linda Phipps all of Clintwood; brothers, Paul McFall and wife Ruby, Joe McFall, Don McFall and wife Joyce all of Clintwood and Jesse James McFall of Duffield; sisters, Jearl Robinson of Florence, Or. and Carolyn Sue Edwards and husband Lee Roy of Clintwood; grandchildren, Jennifer Mullins and husband Robert of Wise, Russell Phipps and wife Megan, Abingdon; 2 great-grandsons, Eli Phipps and Ethan Mullins; sister in-law Tennessee Kendrick of Clintwood; several nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives and friends. Special thanks to the Laurels Retirement and Assisted Living staff and residents for care and friendship.

Funeral Services for Jessie Lee Phipps were conducted at 4 p.m. Tuesday, November 30, 2021 at Clintwood Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Kelly Fleming officiating. Burial followed at the Phipps Memorial Cemetery, Clintwood. Pallbearers were family and friends. The family received friends from 3 p.m. till service time.
