JAMES DAVID BAILEY

James David Bailey, age 71, of Bartlick Road, Haysi passed away Thursday November 11, 2021 at Johnson City Medical Center in Johnson City, Tenn. He was the son of the late Willie A. and Maurie Edith Fields Bailey. He was last employed as a coal miner and was a member of Bartlick Independence Freewill Baptist Church.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Robert Bailey.

He is survived by his wife, Sandra Bailey; three children, David (Chrissie) Bailey, Honaker, Geneva (Mickey) Wood, Birchleaf and Jennifer (Jamie) Boyd, Bridgeport, WV; seven grandchildren, Morgan Lester, Blake Bailey, Madison Childress, MaKayla Bailey, Landon Boyd, Isaiah Wood and Abram Wood and two brothers, Willie Dale (Gayle) Bailey, Haysi and Ronald Glenn (Judy) Bailey, Clintwood. Several nieces and nephews also survive. 

Funeral services were conducted 1 p.m. Tuesday, November 16, 2021 at Haysi Funeral Home with Elders Eddie Newsome and Junior Deel officiating.  Pallbearers were Doug Fleming, Blake Bailey, Gordon Boyd, Thomas Boyd, Mike Owens and Mickey Wood.
