SAMUEL GOBEL BOYD

HAYSI - Samuel Gobel Boyd, age 86, passed away at Lee Health and Rehab, Pennington Gap Wednesday, November 10, 2021. Born in Buchanan County, he was a son of the late Wesley and Effie Deel Boyd.  He was a Sergeant  in the Air Force and a retired coal miner. 

Survivors include his sons Sam Boyd and Joseph and his wife Heather Boyd both of Haysi; a brother, Bobby and his wife Nell Boyd of Haysi; a grandson, Joseph M. Boyd II of Tex. and a niece, Nina and her husband Shane Sykes of Haysi.

Funeral services were conducted at 7 p.m. Thursday, November 11, 2021 at Haysi Funeral Home with Elders Mark Justice and Terry Oquinn officiating.  The family received friends after 6 p.m. prior to service. Military rites were conducted 11 a.m. Friday, November 12, 2021 at Haysi Funeral Home. Burial followed in the Patton Deel Cemetery, Haysi. Online condolences may be sent to www.haysifuneral.com.
