BOBBY J. MARTIN

CLINTWOOD - Bobby J. Martin age 78, passed away Sunday, October 24, 2021 at the Dickenson Community Hospital, Clintwood. He was a lifelong resident of Dickenson County and a retired coal miner with UMWA. Mr. Martin was a devout Christian and a member of Ramey Flatts Church. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and a caregiver to all his family.

Mr. Martin was preceded in death by his parents, Reed and Ruby Martin; sisters, Betty Snipes and Shirley Hale; two brothers, Darrell and Harold Martin.

Survivors include his wife, Janice Phillips Martin of Clintwood; his son, Michael Martin of Clintwood and daughter, Jana “Nikki” Martin of Roanoke; three brothers, Herm Junior Martin and Donald Martin of Kingsport, Tenn., Christopher Martin and Carol of Bluefield; two sisters, Sadie Ruth Payne of Bluefield and Carolyn Pearson of Remington; grandchildren, Paul, Nicholas and Zachary Smith and several nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives and friends 

A song service was held Thursday, October 28th, 7 p.m. at the Clintwood Funeral Home Chapel. Family received friends beginning at 5 p.m. Funeral services were conducted, at the funeral home, Friday, October 29th, at Noon, with Bill Knoskie and Jack Taylor officiating. Burial followed at Temple Hill Memorial Park, Castlewood. Nephews served as pallbearers. Online condolences may be given at www.clintwoodfuneralhome.com.
