GAIL B. HAYES

October 06, 2021

Gail B. Hayes, 78, of Clintwood, went to be with the Lord on Friday October 1, 2021 after a brief illness. Her family was at her side. Gail was a Christian and a member of the Slate Creek

Primitive Baptist Church. She loved her Lord and she loved her family. She was a devoted mother, grandmother and wife. Gail was a fantastic cook, she was well known for the delicious meals she made and some of the best desserts ever. She loved to feed people and said it was worth all her efforts just to see them enjoy it.

Gail was a caregiver by nature, always willing to help people in any way she could, cooking a meal, cleaning house or sitting with a child or an elderly person. She was a woman of many talents, she had an eye for decorating, she could put colors and patterns together and make thing look great. She had fantastic taste in clothing and kept not only herself looking great, but Eugene as well. She had a flair for flowers, plants and hanging baskets. She also had a green thumb, together with Eugene they raised some fantastic gardens, and put them to good use fixing wonderful meals and canning for later use. Gail was certainly not afraid of work and took pride in everything she did whether it was cooking, cleaning, sewing or hoeing the garden. She was a people person, quick to make new friends and hang on to the ones she had. She enjoyed good times with her family and friends, and when time were not so good, she was always there to lend a hand in any way she could. Gail always made you glad to be around her and made you feel better about yourself. She loved the Friday night lights, the feel of the big crowds and was proud supporter of the Clintwood Greenwave.
