SIDNEY STANLEY

Sidney Stanley, age 77 of Auty’s Drive, Haysi, passed away Friday, September 10, 2021 at his home.  He was the son of the late Clement and Martha Mullins Stanley. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother Kenneth Stanley; four sisters, Rita Gay Stanley, Dessel Musick, Irene Anderson, Lorene Stanley and his father and mother-in-law, Elmer and Virgie Wright. He was a member of the UMWA.

Survivors include his wife, Lorene Stanley; five children, Loretta (Sam) Burkett, Haysi, Patton (Linda) Stanley, Haysi, Bradley (Allison) Stanley, Haysi, Adam Stanley, Haysi and Aaron (Kathy) Stanley, Abingdon. Also surviving are thirteen grandchildren, PJ Burkett, Samantha Fox, Lia Burkett, Stephanie (Terry) Counts, Larisa Stanley, Bradley William (Cristie) Stanley, Michelle (Jessie) Stanley, Ethan Stanley, Derrick (Jessi) Stanley, Robin (Tyler) Stanley, Hunter (Amy) Stanley, Cheyenne Orfield and Tyler McGlothlin; thirteen great-grandchildren, and two on the way; his sister, Alice Ratliff, Haysi and a brother, James Arville Stanley, Haysi.

Funeral services were conducted 1p.m. Friday, September 17, 2021 at Splashdam Freewill Baptist Church with Danny Sluss officiating. Burial followed at the Sid & Lorene Stanley Cemetery, Big Ridge Road, Haysi. Pallbearers were grandsons and grandsons-in-law. Friends could call after 6 p.m. on Thursday, September 16, 2021 at the church where an evening service was held at 7 p.m. with Darrell Milgrim officiating Online condolences may be sent to www.haysifuneral@yahoo.com.
