LOIS PAULINE WILLIS

Lois Pauline Willis, age 97 of Richmond, passed away Tuesday, August 31, 2021 at her home. Born in Dickenson County, she was a daughter of the late Willie and Julia Mae Owens Sutherland. Lois retired from GC Murphy in 1983 and was of the Primitive Baptist faith. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ray Willis; daughters, Donna Jean and Cindy Mae Willis; sisters, Carol and Fern Sutherland and Clara Presley, and brothers, Garland, Earl, Duane and Jearl Sutherland.

Left to mourn is a son, Danny (Pat) Willis of Chesterfield County; granddaughters, Donnetta (Johnny) Wells, Susan Willis, Sandy Willis and Hope Hughes; grandsons, Kenny Wells, Brandon Wells, Shayne Hughes and Timmy Wells; great-grandchildren, C.J. Fields, Max Hannah, Samantha Hannah, Angel Faulkner, Dillon McCullen, and Emily Willis; great-great granddaughter, Solei Hughes; a special little great-great grandson, Conner Wells, a brother, Norman Sutherland, brother in law Watt Presley and special niece and friend Brenda Davis.

Funeral services were conducted 7 p.m. Sunday, September 5, 2021 at Haysi Funeral Home with Elders Garnell Gilbert and Don Stacy officiating. The family received friends after 6 p.m. prior to service. A graveside service was conducted at 2 p.m. Monday, September 6, 2021 at the J.S. Willis Cemetery, Haysi.
