EARL WAYNE FIELDS

Earl Wayne Fields, age 77 of Caudle Lane passed away Tuesday, August 24, 2021 at Johnson City Medical Center, Johnson City, Tenn. Born in Grundy, he was a son of the late Clarence Mack and Helen Mullins Fields. Earl was a Haysi High graduate, a retired mechanic for Pittston Coal Company and a member and deacon of Bartlick Presbyterian Church. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Marsha Beth Gibson; grandson, Nathan Scott Fields; granddaughter, Rachael Garrett; great-grandson, Anthony Craig Gibson and sister, Trula Mae.

Survivors include his wife, Mavis Fuller Fields; sons, David (Michelle) Fields and Michael (Betty) Fields both of Haysi; step-daughters, Robin Edwards of Haysi and Regina (Dennis) Hall of Danville; grandchildren, Cody Gibson, Logan Gibson, Taylor Gibson, Sheena Baker, Deborah (Noah) Reynolds, Heather (Justin) Doebert, Elizabeth Hall, Telena Turner and Tyler Turner; great-grandchildren, Hayden Baker, Matthew Coleman, Jake Coleman, Dennis Dean Wallace, Hunter Scott Fields, Cooper Ryan Fields and Rosaleigh Reynolds; siblings, Joyce Mullins, Barbara (Larry) Owens, Stoney (Eurabelle) Fields, Roger (Patty) Fields, Hank (Teresa) Fields and Wilson (Theresa Stanley) Fields all of Haysi and Tommy (Kimberly) Fields of Roanoke. 

Funeral services were conducted 7 p.m. Friday, August 27, 2021 at Haysi Funeral Home with John R. Whitner officiating. Visitation was held Friday evening prior to service.  A graveside service was conducted 1 p.m. Saturday, August 28, 2021 in the Mitchell Senter Cemetery, Haysi with Willard Wood officiating.  Pallbearers were family and friends.  Online condolences may be sent www.haysifuneral.com.
