Beacher Harold Barton, age 84, of Neeley Ridge, Clinchco, passed away Wednesday, August 18, 2021 in Heritage Hall, Clintwood. Born in Buchanan County, he was a son of the late Tivis Colley and Ollie Mae Deel Barton. He was owner/operator of Barton Grocery and of the primitive Baptist faith. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Fairy Tomecka and brothers, Gaines Barton and Gerald Barton.
Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Margie Fuller Barton; daughters, Janet Hill of Clinchco and Debra (Kelley) Riddle of Castlewood; a grandson, Brad (Irina) Stanley of Lenoir, NC; three step-grandchildren, Joshua Riddle, Jordan Riddle and Maddie Riddle; great-grandchildren, Emma, Skylar, Jaelyn, Kale, Cora and Dawson; sisters, Patsy Stiltner of Johnson City, Tenn. and Phyllis (David) Powers of Haysi; brothers, Raymond (Helen) Barton of Honaker, Earl (Janet) Barton and Ron (Erma) Barton both of Bristol and David (Barbara) Barton of Ok.; a half-sister, Evelyn Sheppard and a special caregiver, Ralphine Willis.
Funeral services were conducted at 7 p.m. Friday, August 20, 2021 at Haysi Funeral Home with Elders Roger Fuller, Noah Kim Edwards and Jimmy Counts officiating. The family received friends after 6 p.m. prior to service. A graveside service was conducted at 1 p.m. Saturday, August 21, 2021 at Temple Hill Memorial Park, Castlewood. Nephews served as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers were Bobby Hammons, Andy Silcox, Larry Deel, Mickie Taylor, Jerry Rose, Ronnie Rasnick and Randy Fuller.
