DUSTIN JAMES OWENS

Dustin James Owens, age 34 of Breaks Park Road, Haysi passed away August 8, 2021 at his residence.

He was the son of Lavonda (Benny) Hess of Haysi and Kevin (Marti) Owens of Beckley, WV. He was last employed as a coal miner.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Harold and Faye Stanley; paternal grandfather, James Weaver and one brother, Jesse Owens.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by his son Payton Owens; two brothers, Leslie Mullins and Todd (Carla) Mullins, both of Haysi; his paternal grandmother, Ann Owens of Lincolnton, NC and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

Funeral services were conducted Tuesday, August 10, 2021 at 7 p.m. at Haysi Funeral Home, Haysi with Darrell Milgrim and Roy Stanley officiating.  The family received friends after 6 p.m. prior to the service.  A family graveside service was conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday, August 11, 2021 in the Stanley Family Cemetery, Breaks Park Road, Haysi.
