Cider Barn to host Aug. 21 fundraiser for cleaner rivers
Tumbling Creek Cider Company will host a new fundraiser, "Three Cheers for Three Rivers," Saturday, Aug. 21, from 5:30-7:30 p.m. to raise funds for Upper Tennessee River Roundtable's work to improve the water quality of the rivers in Southwest Virginia. The Roundtable works on the Holston, Clinch, and Powell rivers that flow from Southwest Virginia to Tennessee.
Ticket prices are $25/individual and $40/couple and may be purchased at http://www.uppertnriver.org or at the door. Ticket includes glass of cider, barbecue meal with vegetarian option, live music by the Zac Saltz Band, entrance to silent auction, and optional site tour. The silent auction will include a kayak, a rain barrel, and a variety of themed baskets. Participants should bring their own blankets or chairs to the event.
