The Lens of 11 exhibit on display at Library Gallery

Roddy Addington is one of 11 photographers featured in the show The Lens of 11 now on display at the Charles Harris Library Gallery in Wise.

The adventure of photography is reflected in each shot. There is a love of place, of people, and the treasures found every day. The images are about energy, the energy used to push the limits of color, of location, of timing, reaching for that second or that breath before it all changes. It’s a constant search for the best moments...from the dramatic settings of deep in a cave, to a thunderstorm across the valleys, to the night skies of local mountaintops.

Around every curve there is an opportunity for a photo. Southwest Virginia is an adventure, ever changing. Each image brings a new challenge...the high contrast of black and white, the saturation of colors, and even the slight variations of mist and stars. Roddy has spent over twenty years telling these stories with a camera and with the understanding that there is so much more to come.
