REMINDERS
As of Tuesday, 5,996 Dickenson County residents had received at least one dose of COVID-19 vaccine, according to the health department. That’s about 41 percent of the population as it was estimated in 2018, at roughly 14,500.
Gov. Ralph Northam announced June 21 that 70 percent of Virginians 18 and older had received at least one dose.
Virginia ended all COVID-19 mitigation measures May 28.
However, guidance from the federal Centers for Disease Control and Prevention specifies that those who are unvaccinated or not fully vaccinated should continue to wear masks, practice physical distancing and avoid crowds and poorly ventilated spaces.
