Vaccinations planned Friday in McClure

The Health Wagon vaccination team will administer COVID-19 vaccines Friday at Paramount Contura LLC Deep Mine No. 41 in McClure from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.

This will be the Moderna vaccine, which requires two doses.

The mine is located just off Route 63 in McClure on Route 773, beside the McClure Little League field. The guard shack for the mines is located approximately one mile on 773. The vaccination team will be set up on the left, outside the guard shack.

“Coal miners, by the very nature of their job, are already at risk for respiratory issues,” Health Wagon officials said in a press release. “This is an excellent opportunity for our area's miners to receive the vaccine without having to miss work and have one less health concern.”
