INIS MARIE DORTON

Marie, born October 27, 1933 went home to be with the Lord Wednesday, April 7, 2021 at the residence of her daughter, Verina Skeens at the age of 87. Marie was married to her husband, Fletcher for 69 years together. They share eight children. Marie was an avid quilter and loved to crochet. She had a green thumb and loved to tend to her flowers. Her home cooked meals and chocolate gravy are missed by many.
Marie is preceded in death by her husband, Fletcher Dorton, her parents, Booker and Jemima Craft; her children, Mackie June, Zegory, and Rocky Dorton; granddaughter, Tasha Marie and grandson, Matthew Reedy.
She leaves behind her daughters, Karen (David) Reedy of Clintwood, Delilah (Danny) Graham of Norton, Verina Skeens of Norton and Tammy Meade of Pound; her son, Brandon (Chrissy) of Nicklesville; fourteen grandchildren, nineteen great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild; her brothers, Danny “Booker” Craft and Walker Craft and her sister, Wolverine Russell.

The family received friends Saturday, April 10, 2021 at 6 p.m. at Mullins Funeral Home Chapel with funeral services that followed at 7 p.m. Norman Mullins officiated. COVID-19 guidelines were followed and masks were required. A graveside service was held Sunday, April 11, 2021 at 11 a.m. at the Dorton Family Cemetery, Bold Camp Section, Pound. Burial followed. Pallbearers were Jeremy Mullins, Israel Mullins, Cody Dye, Jason Elkins, Brandon Dorton, Evan Dorton, Noah Dorton, and Joshua Dorton. Honorary Pallbearers were Franky Dye, Trevor Gillenwater, Hunter Gillenwater, Griffin Woods, James Dye, Lee Lynn Dorton, Finley Hensley and Cason Mullins.
