WILLIAM RUSSELL CHILDRESS

William Russell Childress age 51, passed away Friday April 2, 2021 at the Holston Valley Medical Center, Kingsport, Tenn. He was born in Norton, graduated from Thomas Walker High School, attended Clinch Valley College and served in the United States Army. He enjoyed spending time with family, the outdoors and sports from football to auto racing.

He is survived by his parents Richard and Barbara Childress of Clintwood, one brother Rick Childress and wife Shandee of Big Stone Gap. He was a loving uncle to several nieces and nephews, survived by his aunts, uncles and host of other relatives and friends.

The family received friends from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. Sunday April 4, 2021 at the Clintwood Funeral Home Chapel with a service at 7 p.m. Funeral Services were conducted at 1 p.m. Monday with Glenn Slemp and Lester Mullins officiating. Burial followed at the Stanley Family Cemetery, Stone Hollow community of Clintwood. Pallbearers were friends and family.
