RITA DELORES CRABTREE

Rita Delores Crabtree age 91, of Clintwood, passed away on Wednesday, February 24, 2021. Delores was born on June 17, 1929 in Wise County to the late Claudius McKinley Robinson and the late Mary Elizabeth Robinson.

She was employed by Commonwealth Doctors Hospital, Fairfax, as a Linen Room Supervisor until her retirement in 1985. After returning to Clintwood, she enjoyed working in her garden and flowers.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Carlton Crabtree; two grandsons, Roy Blaine Swindall, Jr. and Marshall Clay Crabtree; five sisters, Virginia, Thelma, Betty Carol, Elwanda and Eloise; four brothers, Henry, Percy, McKinley “Mac” and Carson.

Survivors include her son, Donald Crabtree and wife Lisa; daughters, Jean Swindall and husband Roy, Linda Garnell Clarke and husband Bill; four grandchildren, Aaron Clarke and wife Renee, Gabrielle Fuller and husband Richard, Cody Swindall and wife Caitlin and Laurel Crabtree; four great-grandchildren, Alora, Alaina, Mariah and Autumn; four sisters, Lelia Minor, Monica Gallahan, Virgie Strouth and Sharon Layne and one brother, J. T. Robinson.

Family received friends Saturday, February 27, 12:30 p.m. at the Clintwood Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral services began at 1 p.m. with Pastor Joe Glenn Sluss officiating. Burial followed in the Phipps Memorial Cemetery, Clintwood. Pallbearers were Donald Crabtree, Richard Fuller, Aaron Clark, Cody Swindall, B.J. Swindall and Matthew Swindall.
