VIRGIL GRAYSON ROSE

Virgil Grayson Rose past away on February 17, 2021. Services were held at Mullins Funeral Home in Clintwood on February 22 and 23, 2021. He was buried at the Sluss Family Cemetery on Mullins Ridge behind his old Homeplace.

Virgil Grayson had three siblings, Ritchie, Carol, and Diane who died at the age of 8.

After he returned form Vietnam he married Patsy. Grayson became an adept carpenter, plumber, electrician, mason, welder, auto mechanic, leather worker, draftsman and eventually an engineer at TVA. Virgil Grayson finally retired from FEMA to reside in one of the two homes he built in the mountains of East Tennessee. Throughout his life, he was involved with his church. Virgil currently was attending Unity Full Gospel Church in Maryville, Tenn. He loved his church family. He also enjoyed racing and riding motorcycles throughout his life, as well as hiking, caving, fishing, hunting, and woodworking. He loved to keep his mind and hands busy.

Virgil Grayson Rose will be welcomed in Heaven by his father, Kineth “Si” Cottle Rose; stepmother, Elizabeth; mother, Clarcie Farmer; stepfather, Oscar; little sister Diane and so many more.

He is survived by his wife of 52 years Patsy; son, Scott and wife Marlena; daughter, Wendy and husband Terrell; six grandchildren, Blake and wife Tiffany, Kristina and husband Sebastian, Alice, River, Ezekiel Si and Jesse; sister, Carol and husband Wayne; brother, Ritchie and wife Donna; stepbrother, Wayne and stepsister Nancy.

We will miss his capable hands, black hair, loving voice, wise counsel, laughter, and knowledgeable conversations.
