Computer Assistance Program: Sponsored by Clintwood Kiwanis Club and Clinchco Kiwanis Club
This service program seeks to collect unwanted computer equipment to refurbish for distribution to needy students in the Dickenson County School System for use in their COVID-19 remote learning coursework.
If you have an old computer, monitor or laptop that you no longer use please consider donating to the CAP service project. Donated computers and laptops will have their memories erased, and where needed have new hardware, batteries, etc. and updated software installed. Old monitors and computer accessories are also needed. Nothing will be refused, especially since it may take components from multiple systems to comprise a complete and functional computer system.
Needy students, as identified by Dept of Social Services and Behavioral Health staff, will be our target recipients but input from the community regarding a need is also welcome.
Donations can be left at the Clintwood Kiwanis Building, 419 Fox Town Road on Nov 30, and Dec 1 and 2 from 6-8 p.m. There will be a Kiwanian present to accept your donation at the entrance to the building. We will be able to unload from your vehicle if you chose that option.
If you have donations to make but are unable to drop these items off on these scheduled dates/times please contact a member of the Clintwood Kiwanis Club or Clinchco Kiwanis Club and we will make special arrangements.
Thank you for your anticipated cooperation in passing this information on to anyone who may be in a position to donate to this very important project that will benefit needy students in our county during this pandemic.
