JAMES ‘JIMMY’ NEWMAN

James “Jimmy” Newman, 72, of Jenkins, KY, passed away from this life on Friday, November 20, 2020 at the Hazard ARH in Hazard, Kentucky. He was the son of George Calvin Newman and Audrey Mae Newman.

Jimmy had worked for Beth Energy and was president of the Local UMWA union 5741. He was a beloved husband, father and Poppie and forever be in our hearts.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Larry Newman and Jack Newman; sister, Carolyn Newman and sister-in-law, Freida Newman.

Surviving are his loving wife of 53 years, Mary Newman; two daughters, Melissa Lee and husband Brian and Melinda Stanley; son, Justin Helton; five grandchildren, Kayla, Nicole, Alyssa, Anthony Newman and Amber Stanley; four great-grandchildren, Brantley, Braylee, Bristol Thompson and Mason “James” Newman; two brothers, Charles Newman of Norton and Roger Newman of Ohio; sister, Peggy Bosley and husband Jim of Washington and a host of other relative and friends.
