PAULINE KISER

Pauline Kiser age 89, passed away Saturday, November 14, 2020 at her home in Clintwood. Pauline was born July 24, 1931 in Steinman to Arvil and Vadna Barton. She was the eldest of nine children. Pauline married Joe Kiser in 1951. They llived in Clinchco where they raised their six children. Joe was a hard working coal miner and Pauline was s loving wife and mother. She was also a wonderful grandmother and great grandmother. She was known as “Mammaw Kiser”. After the death of her husband in 1991, Pauline moved to Abingdon where she spent the next 27 years. She enjoyed community service and served as a volunteer at her local church’s food pantry. She also served as a volunteer at Johnston Memorial Hospital and Barter Theater.
Pauline was preceded in death by her parents, Arvil and Vadna Barton, husband, Joe Kiser, a brother, Bill Barton, two sisters, Jean Anderson and Phyllis Barton, two grandchildren, Shayley Jo Kiser and Jeremy Rose.
She is survived by three brothers, Edward Fayne Barton and wife Fina of Abingdon, Carter Leon Barton and wife Marie of Richmond and Glen Barton of Myrtle Beach , SC; two sisters, Theda Richie of Culpeper and Jan Williams and husband Terry of Coeburn; six children, Debbie Green and husband Carroll of Clintwood, Cappi Rose and husband Michael of Clintwood, Barry Kiser of Kingsport, Tenn., Jinger Rose and husband Steve of Clintwood, Gary Kiser and wife Donna of Clintwood and Tammy West of Clintwood; nine grandchildren, Mia Stanley, Meegan Fletcher, Melissa Green-Begley, Brandon Green, Jade Stanley, Haven Rasnick, Kara West, Tyler Rose and Casey Zaczek; sixteen great- grandchildren, Saydee Yates, Maylee Stanley, Gracie Mullins, Callie Mullins, Max Fletcher, Mason Fletcher, Lennox Cappi, Eli Green, Isabella Green, Kendall Stanley, Worth Stanley, Landon Rasnick, Maci Rasnick, Heidi West, LeAnna Rose and Freya Rose.
In lieu of flowers, family request memorial donations be made to Ronald McDonald House in memory of Shayle Jo Kiser. Family received friends Monday, November 16 from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. in the Clintwood Funeral Home Chapel. Family and friends were requested to meet at the funeral home, at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, November 17, to proceed to Temple Hill Memorial Park for graveside services at Noon. Pastor Joe Fuller officiated. Grandsons served as pallbearers. This service was held under the current COVID 19 guidelines set forth by the governor of Virginia.
