HERBERT WAYNE SHORT

Herbert Wayne Short age 65, of Clintwood, passed away Thursday, November 5, 2020 in Norton Community Hospital, Norton, Virginia. Mr. Short was born in Pound, Virginia and was a retired coal miner. He attended Clintwood Bible Church, loved his family and animals and was a friend to many

Mr. Short was preceded in death by his wife, Nannie Ellen Short; parents, Anderson and Eula Short; 3 brothers Joe, Charles and Ernie Short; 3 sisters, Emily Bolling, Shirley Phillips and Peggy Phillips.

Survivors include his son, Jessie Shawn Mullins and Michelle of Clarksville, Tenn.; two daughters, Katy Baker and Donna Short, both of Clintwood; granddaughter, Kallie Ellen Baker; step-grandson, Anakin Gage Baker; his brother, Donnie Short and Nancy of Wise and sister, Gayla Phillips of Pound; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were conducted Saturday, November 7 at 2 p.m. in the Clintwood Funeral Home Chapel with Terry Price officiating. Visitation began at 1 p.m. Burial followed in the Willis Family Cemetery, Georges Fork. Family and friends served as pallbearers.
