EVALAY WALLACE

Evalay Wallace, age 92, of Big Ridge Road, Haysi, passed away Monday, November 2, 2020 at Norton Community Hospital. Born in Dickenson County, she was a daughter of the late Jim and Bitha Mullins. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Willie “Bill” Wallace; a daughter, Teresa Compton; granddaughter, Leah Harris; brothers, Jim Jr., Danny Ray, Hugh and Roger Mullins.

Survivors include two daughters, Brenda Willis of Haysi and Sondra (Steve) Harris of Fredricksburg; two sons, Roy “Pete” (Marie) Wallace and Darrell Wallace both of Haysi; a brother, Carlie Gene Mullins; six granddaughters, Chandra (Willie) Wright, Chancy (Todd) McCormick, Amy (Jessee) Yates, Kayla (Clay) Powers, Brandi (BJ) Garrison and Hannah (Steven) Mullins; five grandsons, Danny Willis, Ryan (Sheila) Wallace, Luke (Devon) Harris, Zak (Ling) Harris and Nathan Harris, 21 great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.

Funeral services were conducted 11 a.m. Friday, November 6, 2020 at Haysi Funeral Home with Darrell Milgrim officiating. Burial followed in the Bartley-Wallace Cemetery, Haysi. Pallbearers were Ryan Wallace, Caden Powers, Cooper Powers, Clay Powers, Jessee Yates, BJ Garrison and Talan Yates. Honorary pallbearer was Danny Willis. The family received friends after 6 p.m. on Thursday, November 5, at the funeral home where a service was held at 7 p.m. with Danny Sluss. Online condolences may be sent to www.haysifuneral.com.
