ROGER MULLINS

Roger Mullins, age 76, of Haysi, passed away Friday, October 9, 2020 at his home. Born in Dickenson County, he was a son of the late Jim and Bitha Mullins. He worked for Island Creek Coal Company for around 25 years and was last employed at Breaks Carryout and Grocery which he owned with his wife Itley. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, Jim Jr., Danny Ray and Hugh Mullins.

He is survived by his wife of nearly 47 years, Itley, a daughter, Rhonda (Shane) Branham of Clintwood; a son, Jeff (Michelle) Dieker of Topeka, Ks.; grandchildren, Brianna Scanlon, Nicholas Hall, Kyle and Ryan Dieker; great-grandchildren, Jameson and Cora Deiker; a brother, Carlie Gene Mullins; a sister, Evalay Wallace and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday, October 13, 2020 at Haysi Funeral Home with Jerry Ward officiating. Burial followed in Mitchell-Senter Cemetery, Haysi. Friends and family served as pallbearers. The family received friends after 6 p.m. Monday, October 12, 2020 at the funeral home with an evening service at 7 p.m. with Darrell Milgrim.
