VIRGINIA BERTIS MULLINS

Virginia Bertis Mullins, age 77, of Nicklesville, passed away Wednesday, October 7, 2020 at her home. Born in Dickenson County, she was a daughter of the late Cowan and Oma Woods Branham. She was a homemaker and member of Bethany Old Regular Baptist church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Mary “Peno” Deel first husband, Jerry Stallard and 2nd husband, Elmer Ray Mullins.

Survivors include a daughter, Denese Shoemaker and husband Mike of Milford, Mi.; a son, Thomas Darwin Stallard and wife Renee of Lebanon; grandchildren, Shane and Austin Stallard, David Carnell Owens, Amanda Lanway, Jerry (Katie) Colley, Jessica (William) Givens, Jason (Anna) Shoemaker; seven great-grandchildren, Jada, Addison, Averie, Aryana, Brooklynn, Caroline and Valerie; special step-son, Scotty (Lacreta) Mullins;  sister, Colleen (Denny) Rose of Breaks; brothers, Thelmar (Nancy) Branham of Clinchco, Herbert “Poley” (Mildred) Branham of Clinchco, Stearl (Ann) Branham of Clintwood, Carter (Jennifer) Branham of Haysi, Kelster (Carolyn) Branham of Westland, Mi. and special friends, Agnes Hall, Faye Perrigan and Kimberly Nichols.

Funeral services were conducted at 7 p.m. Sunday, October 11, 2020 at Haysi Funeral Home with Elders, Roger Coleman and Gordon Deel officiating. The family received friends after 6 p.m prior to funeral service. Graveside services were conducted at 1 p.m. Monday, October 12, 2020 at Newberry Cemetery, Tarpon, with Pastor Matthew Deel officiating. Grandsons and nephews served as pallbearers.
