DOUGLAS SCOTT ANDERSON

Douglas Scott Anderson age 59, passed away Friday, September 18, 2020 at his home in Clintwood. Doug was the son of the late Sam and Dixie Anderson. He was a member of the 1978 Clintwood Greenwave State Championship Football team and a 1979 graduate of CHS. Doug lived in Church Hill, Tenn.for over twenty years and worked as a surveyor. He retired and returned to Clintwood to take care of family.

In addition to his parents, Doug was preceded in death by his brothers, Bob Anderson and Sammy Anderson; two nephews, Bobby D. Anderson and Christopher Anderson and one great-nephew, Jeremy Rose.

Survivors include his brother, Richard (Dickie) Anderson and wife Jean of Hardy; four sisters, Sue Goodpasture of Bristol, Pat Crook and husband Ron of White Hall, Ark., Lynn Bainbridge and husband John of Daphne, Al. and Diane Anderson of Clintwood; several nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.

A memorial service will be held Wednesday, September 23, 2020, 2 p.m. at Valley View Freewill Baptist Church with Pastor Lynn Vanover officiating. Family will receive friends beginning at 1 p.m. Online condolences may be sent to the family at www.clintwoodfuneralhome.com.
