SNAP emergency benefits extended

Virginia’s Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program will again release emergency benefits to eligible households that are not already receiving the maximum allotment as part of regular monthly benefits.

SNAP benefits will be loaded to recipients’ electronic benefits transfer cards and will be available by Sept. 16, according to a Sept. 1 press release.

SNAP participants with questions related to their benefits are encouraged to contact their local department of social services or visit commonhelp.virginia.gov to access account information.
