NAOMI E. OWENS

Naomi E. Owens, age 93 of Crooked Branch, passed away Monday, August 31, 2020 at Heritage Hall Healthcare in Clintwood. Born in Dickenson County, she was a daughter of the late Marion and Hadie Stanley Edwards. She was a homemaker and member of Sandlick Primitive Baptist Church since October 6, 1963. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Virgil Owens; sons, Carter, Johnny, Gary, Darrell and Jerry; brothers, Junior, Maloy, Clayton and Palmer; three sisters, Millie Shampo, Julie Owens, Dollie Owens; half-sister, Snoda Lyall; half infant sisters, Stella and Ruby Edwards; half-brothers, Basil, Delman, Roby, Ray, Emory and Earl and daughters-in-law, Kay and Ann.

Survivors include a daughter, Wilma (Jimmy) Hearl of Haysi; sons, Willard (Diana) Owens of Haysi, Dean (Karen) Owens of Bland and Ricky Owens of Haysi, 15 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren, a brother, L.C. (Jeanette) Edwards; daughters-in-law, Mildred, Dorothy and Fredia; sisters-in-law, Trula Edwards, Roxie E. Brooks, Lois Edwards, Laura Deel and Delphia Childress.

Funeral services were conducted at 7 p.m. Wednesday, September 2, 2020 at Haysi Funeral Home with Elders Noah Kim Edwards, Jim Duty, Roger Fuller and Garnell Gilbert officiating. Graveside services were conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday at Nathan Edwards Cemetery, Haysi. Pallbearers were grandsons. The family received friends after 6 p.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home prior to funeral services at 7 p.m. Special thanks to Heritage Hall and Staff, Clintwood, Va.
