JIMMIE BLANE KELLY

Jimmie Blane Kelly was born November 22, 1948 and God took him home on August 22, 2020, making his stay here on Earth 71 years and 9 months. He passed away at his home following an extended illness. He was the son of the late Walter and Stella Kelly. Jimmy was baptized on April 2, 1966 and was a member of Mountain View Old Regular Baptist Church. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his father-in-law, Lincous Yates and mother-in-law, Dorthy (Deel) Yates; brothers, Godford and George Grayson Blankenship, Bud and William Kyle Kelly; sisters, Polly Jean (Kelly) Keen and Lula (Kelly) Yates; sister-in-law, Pansy Gail (Deel) Kelly and a brother-in-law, Clayton Deel.

He is survived by his wife, Martha Jane Yates Kelly of 54 years and 4 months; four children, Marsha (Randy) Yates of Maxie, Mona (Randy) Owens of Haysi, Jammie (Linda) Kelly of Lancaster, SC. and Sarah (Terry) Nowlin of Haysi; nine grandchildren, Randy Jr., Stephanie, Brandon, Ranson, Jammie Jr., Cody, Brandeshia, Tabitha, and Justin; thirteen great-grandchildren, Madison, Jacob, Jailynn, Adalynn, Jordan, Kyler, Kylee, Priscilla, Padence, Pierson, Logan, Leland, and Sophie; a brother, Johnny Mack (Betsy) Kelly; a sister, Peggy Joyce Kelly Deel and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were conducted 11 a.m. Tuesday, August 25, 2020 at Mountain View Old Regular Baptist Church with Elders Andy Deel, Mark Justice, Roger Coleman, and Toy Looney officiating. Burial followed in the Yates Cemetery, Greenbrier. Pallbearers were Randy Yates, Jr., Brandon Yates, Ranson Owens, Jammie Kelly Jr., Cody Kelly, Justin Hutchinson, Matt Criswell, and Alex Yates. Honorary pallbearers were J.G. Patel and members of the Mountain View Old Regular Baptist Church. The family received friends after 6 p.m. on Sunday and Monday at the church where an evening service was held at 7 p.m. both nights.
