VERNIE MAY TURNER

Vernie May Turner, born April 13, 1928, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, August 26, 2020 when Jesus called her home, making her stay on earth 92 years, 4 months and 13 days. She was a Dickenson County resident and member of Sandlick Primitive Baptist church. She was a homemaker who enjoyed her family, church and gospel music. She was preceded in death by her parents, William Linkus and Minnie Bell Perrigan, one brother, Ernest Perrigan, husband and love of her life, Evans Turner, one son, Jimmy Turner, two grandsons, Jeffrey and Ricky Turner, two great-grandsons, Jacob Turner and Derek Smith.

Survivors include children, Brenda (Jim) Fletcher, Larry (Karen) Turner and Barbara (Jerry) Fletcher, grandchildren, Jimmy Dale (Jill) Fletcher, Macky Fletcher, Jessica (Ron) Meyers, Jon Turner, Jeromy (Porchia) Fletcher, Amanda (Jason) Perrigan and Jenifer Perrigan; nine great-grandchildren; four great-great grandchildren along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and a special friend, Misty Powers.

Funeral services were conducted at noon Sunday, August 30 at Sandlick Primitive Baptist church with Elders Garnell Gilbert and Noah Kim Edwards officiating.
