Foxy like a squirrel!

‘This fox squirrel, which we call Foxy, is an everyday visitor to our house and showed up in our yard one day a few months ago and likes to eat the leftover bird seed, especially the corn,’ says Long Ridge resident Wayne Riner. ‘We were surprised to see that he was not afraid of us since he is wild, and we could get very close to him while he was eating. He has really enjoyed the fresh cut off ends of the corn from our garden and sometimes runs to it in a place in the crook of a tree down the hill from our yard . . . I was able to photograph him after he ran up a nearby fence post with the end of a fresh shucked corn.’ WAYNE RINER PHOTO
