Food preservation Extension office offers virtual workshops

The Dickenson County Extension Office in cooperation with Sandy Stoneman, Area Food Safety Extension Agent for Wythe, Smyth, Bland, Carroll, Grayson, and Washington Counties has scheduled some food preservation workshops. The workshops are free of charge and will be held by Zoom (Internet). All workshops will be held at 6 p.m.

Here is the workshop schedule:

Thursday, August 27 – Pressure Canning Information

Thursday, September 3 – Freezing Information

Thursday, September 10 – Water Bath Canning

Thursday, September 17 – Instant Pot (Home Pressure Cooker)

To register, please call the Dickenson County Extension Office at 926-4605. You can register for all the workshops you want to attend with one call, or you can call to register for them individually by Tuesday of each week. We will need your name, phone number and an email address. After you register, you will receive an email on the day of the workshop which will have the meeting link. You will be in an online waiting room prior to the workshop beginning.
