WILLIE MAE PHIPPS

Willie Mae Phipps age 89 passed away Saturday, August 15, 2020 at the Norton Community Hospital, Norton. She was a lifelong resident of Dickenson County, graduate of Clinchco School and attended college, where she received a degree in education. She was of the Christian faith, loving mother and grandmother.

She is preceded in death by her parents Webb and Verdie Powers; husband, Columbus Turner along with several brothers and sisters.

Survivors include her sons; Eddie Turner and wife Connie, Clinchco, Franklin Turner, Clinchco, Ronnie Lee Turner and wife Barbara, Coeburn, Lonnie Turner and wife Sifawna, Wise, Lester Turner and wife Nelmalena, Clintwood, Carl Turner and Lisa, Clinchco; daughters, Joyce Fletcher and husband Joe, Clinchco, Laura Woods and husband Don, Haysi and Mary Jane Turner of Clinchco; twenty-six grandchildren, several great and great-great grandchildren.

Funeral services for Willie Mae Phipps were conducted at Noon Tuesday, August 18, 2020 in the Clintwood Funeral Home Chapel with Tommy Austin officiating. Burial followed in the Turner Family Cemetery, Turner Road section of Clinchco. Pallbearers were Jeff Barger, Joe Fletcher, Eddie Turner Jr., Mickey Turner, Johnny Lee Turner, Don Woods, Jr., Ronnie Turner Jr., Wyatt Turner, Josh Baker and Columbus Turner.
