TINA JANICE MEADE

Tina Janice Meade of Clintwood, Virginia left this world after a long illness on July 12, 2020. Tina was the last remaining heir of Sam and Stella Hibbitts of Clintwood. She was predeceased by her husband Hesperus and daughter, Cindy. Tina leaves behind her son Mark Randall Meade, daughter Mary Elizabeth Meade, grandsons, Ryan and Shawn Reynold, many nieces and nephews.

Tina married Hesperus Meade and soon moved to Michigan where they had 3 children, Mark, Cindy and Mary. Tina was a stay-at-home mom who was devoted to caring for Cindy, who was severely handicapped. She always had homemade meals, a clean house and many neighbor children visiting.

In later years, Tina, Hesperus, Cindy and Honey the cat traveled throughout the country in an

RV where they met friends, old and new. After the death of Hesperus in 2005, Cindy and Tina came home to Virginia where they joined her daughter Mary and grandsons, Shawn and Ryan, on Georges Fork.

Tina was an avid gardener, with an amazing flower and vegetable garden, which she shared with friends and neighbors. She was very artistic and everyone was always impressed with her beautiful handwriting. Tina loved all creatures great and small, she fed spiders, birds, possums, deer and anyone else who happened by. She was a devoted Catholic and attended St. Joseph’s Church in Clintwood, where she had many wonderful, caring friends.Mass of the Resurrection was celebrated Saturday, July 18, 11 a.m. at St. Joseph’s Church located on Main Street in Clintwood with Father Eric Asamoah. Burial followed at the S.P. Hibbitts Cemetery located on Georges Fork. Pallbearers were Shawn Reynolds, Ryan Reynolds, Matthew Harris, Richard Harris, Davis Harris and Travis Moore. Honorary pallbearers were Giles Rasnick, Sam Grillo and Ray Mullins. The family received friends Friday, July 17 from 4 until 7 p.m. at the Clintwood Funeral Home.In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made to the S.P.
