CHARLES CLAYFORD BOGGS

Charles Clayford Boggs, 74, passed away Thursday, July 9, 2020 at Norton Community Hospital. He was born in Pound, Virginia and grew up in Pound and Clintwood, Virginia. He was a 1967 Clintwood High School graduate and worked for Appalachian Power Company for over 20 years as a meter reader. Charles also built a small business, owning and operating several car washes and a laundromat over the years before retiring.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ernest and Verna Boggs and three brothers, Daniel Roy Boggs, Dennis Boggs and Joseph Boggs.

He is survived by his loving companion for many years, Carol Craft; three children, Wade Boggs, Julie Boggs-Hill, and Wesley Boggs and grandchildren, Julie Robinson, Blake Boggs, Katie Garwood, Charles Layne, Jacob Layne, Henry Boggs and Mary Frances Boggs.

A graveside service was conducted Tuesday, July 14, 2020 at 1 p.m. at The Boggs Family Cemetery, Pound. Burial followed. Family and friends served as Pallbearers.
