MARIE ADKINS ROBINSON

Bessie Marie Adkins Robinson, age 85, passed away Saturday, June 13, 2020 at her residence.

She was a lifelong resident of Dickenson County and a lifelong member of The VFW Ladies Auxillary and retired from the Dickenson County Sheriff’s Office. She was a member of Lick Fork Freewill Baptist Church. Bessie is preceded in death by her first husband, Charlie Adkins and her second husband, Willie Robinson; her parents, Sarah and Henry Harris; her daughters, Jerettia June Mullins and Wanda Moore; siblings, Georgia Phillips and James Darol Harris; grandson, William Anthony Cornwell; and several stepchildren.

Survivors include two daughters, Diana Adkins Hamilton of Clintwood and Peggy Adkins Parisi of North Carolina; one step daughter, Doris Hallock of New Jersey; three sisters, Martha Thomas of Rosedale, Pearl Thomas of Vansant and Irene Owens of Rosedale; one brother, Jerry Harris of Honaker; eight grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; one great great grandchild; several step grandchildren.

The family will gather at 5 p.m. Wednesday, June 17 at Mullins Funeral Home chapel and will receive friends from 6 to 7 p.m. Services will follow at 7 p.m. with Don Barnes and Greg Cyphers officiating. Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, June 18 at the funeral home at 2 p.m. Burial will follow in the Phipps Memorial Cemetery, Clintwood. Pallbearers will be Alex Hamilton, Steven Godbout, Charles Cornwell, Tyler Hamilton, Jonathan Isom, Anthony Isom, Zachary Gibson, and Jessie Yates. Honorary Pallbearers will be Charlie Hamilton, Roger Moore, Jack Smith, Dave Adkins, and Michael Isom.
