Attention Dickenson County Senior Citizen residents: If you are 60 or older and are in need of food the Appalachian Agency for Senior Citizens will be at Food City in Clintwood on Wednesday, May 27, from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. to distribute free boxes of food that include milk, eggs and bread. Attention Dickenson County Tax Due Notice: The first half of 2020 real estate taxes are due by June 5, 2020. The Dickenson County Treasurer’s Office will not be open to the public during tax deadline. All payments must be mailed to P.O. Box 708, Clintwood, Va., 24228, place in our locked drop box in front of the Courthouse on Main Street or called in by credit card by the information listed on the back of your ticket. Dickenson County Historical Society: Will be closed until further notice. If you need assistance during this time please feel free to call Edith Faye Redden at 276/926-4117. The annual meeting scheduled for April 4, 2020 has also been canceled. It will be rescheduled at a later date.

Dickenson County Historical Society Now Available: Stories of Yesteryear, Volumes 1 through 13. The newest booklet, Volume 13, is the Dave Hall Saga. Anyone interested in purchasing a copy of any of these booklets should call the Historical Society to make arrangements to pick-up a copy. However, because of the present Covid19 situation, you must call the office to make sure that someone will be available for you to pick up a copy. Masks are required inside the building. Volunteers plan to be in the office on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 10 to 12. The price of the booklets vary. For more information please contact our office at 276-926-6355, P. O.
