PATSY KILGORE

Patsy Kilgore, age 85, of Haysi, left this world for a better place where she will never be sick or lonely again. She was born June 16, 1934 to the late William Doc Kilgore and Josephine Belcher in Haysi. Patsy departed this life on Friday, April 23, 2020 at Norton Community Hospital. She was preceded in death by parents, William Doc Kilgore and Josephine Belcher; all of her brothers, Martin, Hobert, Arville, William Junior and Douglas; four of her sisters, Thelma Roberts, Stella Alton, Delma Kilgore and Anna Mae Fuller; four nieces, Diana Reedy, Sharlene Kilgore, Donna Marie, and Betty “Kilgore”; nine nephews, Johnny Alton, Robert Alton, Billy Kilgore, Larry Kilgore, Larry Dean Fuller, Richard Fuller, Raymond Roberts, Phillip Caruso, and Johnny Caruso.

She is survived by one sister, Lois Davis of Shelby, NC; a very special friend, Betty Deel of Haysi; many nieces and nephews; several great nieces and nephews and a host of cousins. 

Patsy was one of the earliest members of the Haysi Church of Christ accepting her Savior in her teens. She was instrumental in leading several of her family to the Lord. She had worked at Haysi High School for around 45 years. Pasty spent her last couple of years in Heritage Hall in Clintwood. She will be sorely missed by her roommate, Violet, her family and friends.

A graveside service was conducted 1 p.m. Tuesday, April 28, 2020 at the Haysi Cemetery with B.J. Souleyrette officiating.
