GED testing centers closed, students can prepare for testing online
Southwest Regional Adult Education (SRAE) classes that meet in public school facilities in Buchanan, Dickenson, Russell, and Tazewell counties will be closed from March 16-March 27, 2020 due to the Governor’s order to close facilities. GED® Testing Centers in Buchanan, Dickenson, Russell and Tazewell counties are also closed during this time.
SRAE’s instructional goal is for our students to have the opportunity to continue learning. Although classes will not be meeting face to face, there remains the opportunity for our students to continue their studies online and prepare for any upcoming tests.
If you have been enrolled in one of our classes between July 1, 2019 and March 15, 2020, we encourage you to use our online instructional programs to continue your study during this time of social distancing.
Those programs include Essential Education’s GED® Academy and TABE Academy and the WorkKeys® Curriculum. You can simply visit the appropriate website and log in with the user name and password that was assigned to you by your classroom instructor.
For those learners who may not have Internet access, you have the option to continue to work in any textbooks that you have taken home with you.
As updates in policy are taking place day to day, we recommend that you check your county schools’ website and local news sources for the latest details regarding the current school closing and future re-opening.
Thank you for your patience during this challenging time. We look forward to seeing you again soon in our classes and testing centers when this threat of corona virus has subsided. Until then, we urge you to remain calm, take necessary precautions, continue your study, and stay healthy!
