LINTON WOODS

Linton Woods, age 84 of Grundy, passed away Saturday, March 7, 2020 at Buchanan General Hospital in Grundy. Born in Buchanan County, he was a son of the late Harlis and Zettie Boyd Woods. He was a retired coal miner and member of Coleman Chapel Church. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Ota Lee Woods and two sisters, Pauline Justice and Thelma Boyd.

Survivors include three sons, Randy (Barbara) Woods of Grundy, Rick (Tina) Woods of Abingdon and Keith (Donna) Sexton of Vansant, eight grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren, three sisters, Lou Jean (Garnie) Deel of Prater, Ruth (Powell) Chambers of Prater, and Cleo Vandyke of Richlands and three brothers, Lloyd (Geraldine) Woods, Harold (Ledna) Woods, and Bruce (JoAnne) Woods all of Prater.

Funeral services were conducted 7 p.m. March 9, 2020 at Coleman Chapel Church, Praterwith Darrell Thacker and Mike Boyd officiating. Graveside services were in the Woods Cemetery, Sunset Hollow at 11 a.m. Tuesday, March 10. The funeral procession left the church at 10:30 a.m. Family and friends served as pallbearers. The family received friends after 6 p.m. on Monday, March 9 at Coleman Chapel Church prior to the funeral service. Online condolences may be sent to www.haysifuneral.com.
