BILLY CANTRELL

Billy Cantrell age 68, of Clintwood, passed away Tuesday, January 7, 2020 at his residence. Mr. Cantrell was a lifelong resident of Dickenson County and was of the Christian faith. He retired from Contura Energy surface mine. Mr. Cantrell loved his family and the outdoors. He was preceded in death by his parents, Carl and Olive Cantrell, his brother, Carl Cantrell, sister, Mary L. Burns and 2 infant siblings.

Survivors include 3 sons, William Cantrell of Coeburn, Cody Cantrell of Oakwood and Billy A. Cantrell of Clintwood; 1 daughter, Amanda Pressley of N.C.; 7 brothers, Robert Cantrell and Sue of Coeburn, Floyd Cantrell and Dot of Clintwood, Curtis Cantrell and Patsy of Wise, Marn Cantrell and Linda of Wise, Lloyd Cantrell and Regina of Wise, Beldon Cantrell and Coleen of Wise and Bernard Cantrell and Rosemary of Wise; 2 sisters, Wanda Bush of Coeburn, Margaret Mullins and Randy of Clintwood; 6 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

A special loving thanks to caregivers Wanda Bush, Paytria Bolling and nursing staff.

Funeral services were held in the Clintwood Funeral Home Chapel Thursday, January 9 at 7 p.m., with Robert Cantrell and Willie Stanley officiating. Visitation began at 5 p.m. Family and friends were requested to meet, at the funeral home, Friday, January 10 at 12:30 p.m. to go in procession to Phipps Memorial Cemetery for graveside services at 1 pm.
