HUBERT RAY HUGHES

Hubert Ray Hughes age 74, of Pound, passed away Thursday, December 26, 2019 at his residence. Mr. Hughes was born in Letcher County, Ky. He was a graduate of Pound High School. Mr. Hughes was a coal miner and a long time barber. He was preceded in death by his parents, Hubert and Mabel Hughes.

Survivors include his wife, Becky Hughes of Pound; sister, Rena Powers of Pound; nephew, Steven Powers and Teresa of Clintwood; many friends, customers and other relatives.

Funeral services were conducted Monday, December 30, 1 pm in the Clintwood Funeral Home Chapel with Joe Glenn Sluss officiating. Burial followed in the Kerr Cemetery on Rose Ridge. Pallbearers were Steven Powers, Danny Lambert, Michael Lawrence, Brad Mullins, Dennis Baker, Robert Stanley, Don Dameron, Bill Hill and Mickey Taylor. Honorary pallbearers were Tommie Thompson, Bobby Garrett, Jeff Mullins, Shanghai Nickles, Jess Lockhart and Joe Tate. Visitation began at 12 Noon.
