ROGER LEE PUCKETT

Roger Lee Puckett Sr. age 75, of Clintwood, passed away Wednesday, December 25, 2019 at Johnston Memorial Hospital, Abingdon. Mr. Puckett was a member of Peuther Chapel Freewill Baptist Church and served as a deacon for many years. He was a graduate of Clintwood High School, Carson-Newman University and was a retired insurance agent.

Mr. Puckett was preceded in death by his wife of fifty-two years, Sandra Colley Puckett; parents, Ray and Ruby Puckett; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Ferris and Dollie Colley; nephew, Thomas Christian Estep.

Survivors include 2 sons, Roger Lee Puckett, Jr. and wife Cindi of Polk City Fl. and Robert Shawn Puckett and wife Paige of Clintwood; granddaughters, Christus Hope Sumpter and husband Patrick, Mollie Kate Puckett, Taylor Brooke Wampler and husband Chris, Kacie Owens and husband Zeke; 3 grandsons, Trey Puckett, Grant Rutherford and wife Hannah, Cole Rutherford and wife Tori; 5 great-grandchildren; sisters, Lana Rae Puckett and Cheryl Ann Estep both of Clintwood; nephew, Payton Ray Johnson of Winchester.

Funeral services were conducted Saturday, December 28, 2 p.m. at Peuther Chapel Freewill Baptist Church with Pastor Joe Glenn Sluss officiating. Burial followed in the Carty Cemetery on DC Caney Ridge Road. Family and friends served as pallbearers.
