GERALD LEE STANLEY

Gerald Lee Stanley age 77, of Dante, passed away Wednesday, December 18, 2019 at his residence. Mr. Stanley was of the Christian faith and attended Trammel Baptist Church. He was a retired coal miner. Mr. Stanley loved his family and friends. He enjoyed Bluegrass music and his hunting dogs.

Mr. Stanley was preceded in death by his parents Ted Stanley and Bessie Greene Stanley; daughter, Marzeia Lane; father-in-law, Hobert Hammons; brother-in-law, Ray Hammons and sister-in-law, Deb Hammons.

Survivors include his wife, Linda Stanley of Dante; son, James Stanley and Bri Boyd of Dante; his brother, Ronnie Greene and wife Peggy of Wise; 3 sisters, Bonita Stair and husband Robert of Wise, Belinda Dingus and husband Roger of Wise and Thurline Hawkins and husband Jack of Blacksburg, SC; loving mother-in-law, Ocie Hammons; brothers-in-law, Clay Hammons, Jim Hammons, Lee Hammons and Sherlene; sisters-in-law, Brenda Hammons, Sharon Hammons and Jim Dishman; grandchildren, LeAnn Vandagriff and Laura Street; 4 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; special friends, Roger Mullins and Maggie Charles; a host of friends and loved ones.

The family received friends, Friday, December 20 in the Clintwood Funeral Home Chapel from 5 p.m. until time of song service at 7 p.m.. Funeral services were held Saturday, December 21, 1 p.m., at the funeral home, with Jason Greene, Wayne Mullins and Roger Dingus officiating. Burial followed in the Hale-Neece Family Cemetery, Bear Ridge, Dante. Family and friends served as pallbearers. Online condolences may be sent to clintwoodfuneralhome.com.
