GWEN MEADE WARD

Gwendolyn ‘Gwen’ Meade Ward, 61, of Coeburn, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, November 16, 2019 at University of Virginia Hospital in Charlottesville. She was born on September 22, 1958 in St. Charles, Missouri. She loved the Lord and was of the Free Will Baptist Faith, also a loving and cherished wife, mother, grandmother and sister.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Lloyd Meade and Rae Meade and father and mother-in-law, Rev. Hasting Alexander Ward and Ruby Amagene Ward.

She is survived by her husband of 39 years, Robert Vincent Ward; two sons, Nathan Ward, Coeburn, Anthony Ward, Lebanon, and Amber Gilbert and husband, Justin, Coeburn; a sister, Mickey Shelton and husband, Allen, Coeburn, four brothers, Mike Meade and wife, Becky, Brent Meade and wife, Margaret all of Coeburn, Terry Meade and wife, Betty and Randy Meade, all of Abingdon; grandchildren, Zachary, Elyssa, Alden and Isaac.

Funeral services for Gwendolyn Ward were held on Wednesday, November 20, 2019 at 7 p.m. at Estes Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Stacy Vanover officiating. Visitation was held Wednesday after 6 p.m. until service time. Burial was at the Robert & Gwen Ward Cemetery on Ivy Lane on Sandy Ridge. The family met at the funeral home and left at 11 a.m.
