Sarah ‘Sallie’ Mullins Hall, the mother of Dave Hall, was ‘alone and almost destitute in the mountain fastness’ of the Cumberlands while ‘her husband and four sons [were] prisoners in the Catlettsburg jail charged with complicity in the murder of revenue officers.’ Sallie was the wife
