Halloween events move indoors

In anticipation of bad weather, two Halloween events have been rescheduled to indoor venues.

The Fall Festival and Halloween festivities planned tonight by McClure River Kiwanis Club have been moved to the Ridgeview High School cafeteria. Costume contest registration begins at 4 p.m. and runs through 6:30 p.m. Treats will begin at 5 p.m. The event closes at 8 p.m.

In Clintwood, the big Halloween festival planned Thursday night is moving to the Clintwood Elementary School gym. Festivities begin at 5 p.m. There will be candy, costume contest, prizes, games and more.

The towns of Clintwood and Haysi both have announced trick-or-treat hours of 5-8 p.m. Halloween night. Haysi also will have a trunk-or-treat event across from town hall.
