REX LEE HILL

Rex Lee Hill, age 65, passed away Sunday, October 20, 2019 at his residence. Nothing made us happier than hearing from others how kind our father was...but not only was he kind he was very patient. He loved being outside, passionate about nature and all the wonders of the world beauty. Content in mind and wanted for nothing. He was clothed in compassion and gave his time freely to those in need. He did a great service to others who were lucky enough to know him. He often shared jokes, folk tales, and stories from South of the Mountain. He spent his last hours in his favorite spot on a hill, best friend Tiger by his side, gazing upon the mountains he’d called home for so many years in a chair he had diligently refinish in a vibrant red coat so that he could rest before the Angels came. He was preceded in death by his parents, Anthony and Wanda Hill.
Survivors include his children; Patience Combs of NC., Emmy Lou Smith of NC., Meredith Evans of Oh., Mandy Hill of NC. and Chance Hill of NC.; one sister, Kitty (Raymond) Hall; three brothers, Rocko (Sharon) Hill, Tim (Cheryl) Hill, and W. V. (Julie) Hill; close son in-law, Jay Smith; seven grandchildren, Brett and Raven Combs, Ayla Evans, Isaac Hayes, Raven Combs, Ethan Smith, Courtney Smith, and Hayden Smith; two great-grandchildren, Julian Babubi and Aspen Smith. He also has additional extended family in Kentucky that he cared for and loved dearly.
A private family service will be held at a later date. Online condolences may be made at www.mullinsfuneralhome.net.
