Job fair, open house planned at Dickenson County career tech center

The Southwest Virginia Workforce Development Board will be hosting an open house and job fair at the Dickenson County Career and Tech School on Oct. 26.

Jason Sartin, business services coordinator, is inviting local businesses to participate. There will be a hospitality room for business leaders prior to the open house, which provides an additional opportunity for networking among businesses.

Doors open to students and the public at noon Oct. 26, when they can tour the facilities and talk to participants.

The event will run until 4 p.m.

Because of the catered lunch for business leaders, Sartin is looking to hear from those interested in participating.

Each booth will be provided a table and two chairs. Sartin needs to know of other specific needs as well as the number of positions a business is hiring for and what those positions are.
